Default Vote what car i should swap my H22 in, and post your 88-up H22 civic 1/4 times!

OK, i have a problem here. i have a 92 lude with an JDM h22 swap with hella bolt ons (my donor car, engine is comming out for swap action!)
i have a 90 civic Si hatch, the car is mint as hell and i would almost hate to destroy the engine bay to fit a h22 in it. Its easier to drop an h22 in a 92-up due to more knowledge of the swap, more h22 hybrid parts, and hydro trans equiped too, whereas the EF isnt.
i might be buying a 93 2 dr coupe today for 400$, the engine runs and needs rings , but who cares obviously i have the h22 and a SOHC's are dime a dozen. The Eg coupe belive it or not (DXmodel) wieghs 50lbs less than my EF. Either way i plan to gut the car that gets the h22 swap.
**The car that gets the h22 will be primarily used for drag racing, so I DONT CARE about the lack of cornering.**
SO to those of you experienced h22 hybrid folk out there, your input is greatly appreciated and will determine what i do in the near future. thanks

----PS post some 1/4 mile times too! yea yea theres the search function that ive beaten to death, but there is no thread that specifically has the 1/4 mile times of all h22 swapped civics! lets start one up!

My h22 is JDM spec, DC header, soon to be the new one that ranta18 has been selling, AEM intake, lightweight flywheel, ACT strip/street clutch, running on hondata s200. In the lude i worked a GSR, WRX on the highway above all places, 89 mustake GT, and a SS camaro till the middle of second gear . Cant wait till the motor is in the civic, im getting full MSD setup, VAFC, a real in car Wide band, 70mm TB port match to a skunk2 if those doods get their act together soon, FPR, fuel pump, fuel rail, and of course a Nitrous direct port system with the bottle hidden under the dash becuase it will be nice and empty under there. Im gong to start with an 80 shot and work my way up to maybe a 120.
---Can anyone explain why the STR intake mani is no good for a N/A h22? Someone stated a while back that the flow rate/pattern or some stuff will be ruined, but i think if anything it would help becuase the runners and plenum are larger and theres no secondaries.

well, provided you gut all the junk under the dash youll have plently of room. If you look directly behind the center console you can see how the 10lb bottle will fit. It will fit with a perfect angle, the valve leaning towards the front of the car how it should. If you line it up right, theres a vent in the middle of your dash on the top. If i mount the bottle just right, A) you wont see it, B) it will be at the proper angle, C) you can remove that vent quickly to crank open the bottle. Keep in mind i have a welder, a cutoff tool, and a creative mind. Ill make that **** work, im aiming on about 3-4 weeks for full completion, gonna be sweet! Ill post pic when im done,, of the interior, i dont want people knowing of my car before i start taking their money..... "oh that car?? nah mang its all stock with a MONSTER tach.
BTW ill have the VAFC and all the gauges in the glove box too! mad sleeper

well i know LSD adds 50 WHP,J/k what engines were in these cars? were they all mota cars on the bottle? or were they pure mota? 8.8:1 pistons? ide hope thats a turboed car? or a built turbo motor ran N/a awaiting the turbo? h22's? elaborate, im curious as to what the 90 si's power plant was and what was done to it.

how hard will it be to getthe bottle out for refilling....get a remote bottle opener so you don't have to pop the vent out.....

might take me 10 mins maybe,, but so what ill get 4-5 runs on it and its totally consealed. As for the remote opener, i prefer my hand over a 100$+ item that has potential of not working when i know my hand will do just fine. The vent will be just sitting there basically, maybe some velcro.

Check my sig, but it'd be way easier in the $400 one.

hey KS-R... that fast time of 11.8 is very impressive. The engine is internally stock? no cams, head milling, or little tricks like that? I would say its possible with the engine setup you have with a really light car. i see you have removed headlights as well as any other unessecary items to save weght. Any idea as to what that car weighs without driver???
If i could pull a mid to high 12 with my setup on motor, i could only imagine how it would fair in the 1/4 with the 100 shot DP added. you should spray an 80 shot and see if you could pull off a 10 sec RUN! that would be badass.
