Removing Prelude Lettering
Hey Guys -
I did do a search on this and couldnt find any good threads. I was wondering what the best way to take the "Prelude" letters on the back of a 5th Gen off. In the past I have heard that you can heat them up with a blow dryer and then they peel off. Is this correct?
If someone who has removed them has any tips that would be great.
Thanks,
-Jeff

Don't forget to pick up some goo gone to clean the adhesive off. Use it right away so the adhesive doesn't dry, it's much easier this way.
Good luck, might do mine as well.

Frozen, let's not be rude.
Use fishing line to gently but firmly floss the lettering away from the surface. Scraping with anything metal runs the risk of removing the paint. GooGone is certainly what you need to remove the excess adhesive. i'm not positive about the 5th gens but i'd assume theyre the same in the fact that they have pegs supporting the lettering.. just floss around it and pry gently but firmly off with a flat head screwdriver (with news paper on the tip).

the prelude stickers on a 5th gen doesn't have pegs, only the emblems have them (front & rear). so forget using a flathead
here's what i used:
1) blow dryer
2) fishing line (or dental floss)
3) goo gone
just don't heat the stickers too long, you could ruin your paint.
