Default D16a6 Header choices...

I'm making of list of what headers will work on the 88-91 Civic/CRX Si. So far I have:

--DC Sports SS and CC 4-2-1
--OBX-R CC
--Generic ones on ebay

Who else makes a header for this car? Will the 92-95 Comptech header fit or the 92-95 greddy header work? I know the o2 bung is a little different, but that's not a problem as the wire can be lengthened. Theoritically, any 92-95 Civic Dx header should work and not have any clearance problems, correct? I just want to stay away from something that makes contact with the radiator or hangs below the oil pan. It seesm that headers for this car aren't that plentiful for some reason.

Landspeed racing's D-header is nice, and dyno's better numbers than the DC Sports!

I got a Ceramic DC 4-2-1 header and i love it. Bottom end improved a lot and the pull from 4k up is amazing.

yeah my choices on Dseires headers are going to be in this order as in performance:

1)Exospeed...Bisi header
2) AN-R headers.... same builder as Bisi header but different designe
3) LandSpeed Racing power headers !!! really good gains & dyno proven
4) greddy
5) DC 4-1
6) DC 4-2-1
7) everything esle is about the same.

Just my thoughs though

are you saying that the header that Exospeed sells is the same header that Bisi helped design?

Dude, if you're putting that on your D16, then you better have some serious internal mods. Super high compression, NICE cam and valvetrain, ported out head and I/M and a proper ECU to control it all. Otherwise, you'll gain 1-2HP over the DC 4-2-1 on a stock A6... But keep in mind the DC 4-2-1 header is a very nice design, it's very evenly proportioned to provide equal HP/Torque gains throughout the entire powerband. 4-1 Design headers aren't all that they're cracked up to be, unless your motor is willing to rev and breath freely past 8k rpms (ahem, did someone say B-series?)

Maybe I should mention that the header is going on a motor with just external bolt-ons and no internal work. But, I did ask for all D-series headers so this information is good to know.

So does anyone have any experience with the Greddy D-Series header? I don't believe I've seen anyone running it.

I think I read somewhere that the Greddy and DC Sports headers are almost identicle...

But yeah, it's amazing to see how many aftermarket headers are available for the d-series! Why drop in a heavy B-series motor when the D still has plenty of potential?

The point is those AN-R's make considerable power even on a stock motor and as I build it up to completion I will never have to change them

Would you guys say that ceramic coated is better than stainless? I just now noticed that there is a big price difference between the two!

Wonder how that performs. If it makes good power, i might get that and sell my DC. It looks like they made it a 4-1 without sacraficing ground clearence.
