I have a 91 Prelude Si ALB[anti lock brakes] that im parting out..
I want to put the rear brakes on my 91 Civic Si but im wondering if theyll fit properly and what all i will need off the prelude for them to fit.
Im not wanting to run alb or anything just the rear discs

you will need the rear spindle/trailing arms from a 90-91 crx si one of the integra's that fits the civic/crx before you can convert to rear disc. the civic hatch with rear drums doesn't have the spindle that you need for disc. and the only way to get that is to replace the trailing arms. get a couple of those and then you should be able to fit the prelude brake setup on your civic. the prelude rear calipers and bracket are interchangable with the civic and integra - i used to have integra calipers on the rear of my prelude when i had to replace them. i had some integra ones sitting around and they bolted right up, and even used the prelude pads.

eh what? the rear disc/rear drum setup uses the exact same trailing arm, the only difference is in the brake itself. there is no spindle on the rear of the car. the spindle is also known as the "steering knuckle" on the front of the car.

the trailing arms (which has the spindle on it) are different from a rear disc setup to a rear drum setup. you will need the trailing arms from a rear disc civic or integra to put rear discs onto a civic or crx that origianlly came with rear drum. you can't bolt up the rear calipers to the trailing arm from a rear drum setup because the arm doesn't have the mounting holes for caliper's mounting bracket. in order to get those mounting bracket holes and the correct bearing spindle you need to change the whole arm. oh, and i have always known the part that comes out of the trailing arm, or knuckle, that goes through the bearings to be the spindle. in fwd, the rear bearings go on a spindle that is welded to the trailing arm, and the front used the cv shaft as the spindle. if i am calling it the wrong thing, someone please tell me what that thing is called.
