if at all possible, get a hold of a VTEC model instead of the SI.

Hey dude..the prelude is a great car..

I recommend you get a 94-95 Prelude VTEC if you can find one, if not that then a 94-95 Prelude Si. The 94-95 model year has the best interior and is the last years before more restrictive emissions controls.

Make a decision if you plan to go all motor or rather boost in the future. If you want to go all motor and just bolt on I/H/E etc as you go along the Prelude VTEC with the H22A 2.2L DOHC VTEC engine 190hp is the best choice.

For boost, there is nothing wrong with a Prelude Si which has the H23A - 2.3L DOHC non-vtec 160hp motor. Be wary of Prelude Si's with high mileage, as they are somewhat prone to spinning bearings because of the larger stroke.

As for parts, some of the places I buy my Japanese parts are

http://www.performance-evolution.com - James

http://www.prospeed-performance.com
Some of the best parts for our cars are made by (that I use)

Crower - http://www.crower.com
ENDYN - http://www.theoldone.com
JUN - http://www.junauto.co.jp

and so on

Definitely check out the 94-95 Vtec/Si models.Good base to start with.

Also the caps comment was not cause their gay but because typing in caps is considered yelling on the internet forums/chat rooms.Just FYI.

Oh and I/H/E stands for intake/header(singular)/exhaust

If you go all motor, dont waste your money on a Venom/STR/HP intake manifold. They are only benificial on turbo applications, unless you are going full out NA with 14:1 compression or something crazy like that. You will be much better waiting till skunk 2 comes out with their intake manifold. A lot of us here use slicks, i recommend micky t's. And if you want to do a decent burnout, remember that having a Limited Slip Differential helps out greatly.

THANK YOU FOR LEAVING THE CAPS OFF, THE TWO GAY DUDES REALLY APPRECIATE IT.

it takes serious coin do do low times with a honda... it's not like spending 300$ and you have a 13 second car, if that would be the case everybody would drive domestics...

expect several thousands in engine mods to accomplish what you had... but you gain it back with fuel miliage with time heheh =0)

and thats justwhen it was stock 265 hp. (Lt1 motor)

No, the STR/Vemon etc work for NA just the same as FI, the only problem is they shift the power curve up quite a bit. If you're crank and valve train is still only built to utilize the factory power curve, then you're going to loose power across the board until about 750 rpm's or so before your redline, which is where the aftermarket IM will start to out power the OEM. If you're designed to revv out to around 9500, 10,000... anything above OEM, then the aftermarket intake might be of good value since they start putting out their power way up there.

$3500, that would be the F-Max kit, and you'd be pulling around 13.9's

93 vtec i/h/50 shot =13.9 w/a good driver

when people here refer to an intake, they mean the tube and filter, not the manifold like the domastic world.

there is a factory lsd from japen. the m2b4 tranny has it, and also has better gear ratios then the stock tranny here.

no never said that, just making a point...i had a 75 shot on stock internals...many people run a 100 shot...but tuning is the key

i had a friend who SAID he knew someone that was running 150 shot dp kit. said he went though 3 bottles and it was fine, but i wouldn't do it. unless you dont care about blowing it, so you can rebuild it.

You leave it at the track on that shot.. H22 motors arent strong.. You will get away little while shooting that amount but.. Motor will end up blowing.. I would not do it.. Also.. tuning is the key.. FUEL.. engine management and soo on...

I agree...to be honest if you want to spray/boost a car to go fast, the prelude is the wrong car for you. The motor is very nice, but Honda made some design choices that make it a pain in the *** to build up without spending a bunch of $$$

And if you just want a car to drive around and get decent mileage, but still go fast...why do you want a FWD car? front wheel drive honestly blows for drag racing.

I would rather get a Nissan 240SX which is RWD and drop in the JDM turbo motor...
