if u could only choose 1 mod...
what would it be on a gsr out of these...
1. CTR pistons
2. CTR cams
3. dc 4-1 headers
4. full cat back
which would give my car the most power? sorry im a baller on a budget haha

header with no exhaust wont do anything, cat back without header and cat is pointless, pistons are good and cams are good... Im not sure which 1 of the 2 I would pick though :\ Cams are a lot better with cam gears and tuning of the gears... but you might not have money for that right yet since you said your on a budget... so pistons might be the way to go... but then again you may have to pay someone to intall those

Good thing you corrected yourself the pistons upgrade will be the most expensive on of all four
. The ctr cams will yield the most power of the other mods, but you will still have the stock components as bottlenecks.
I wouldnt recommend swapping your pistons as a first mod because most people change thier mind on which direction to take thier car so this would be a waste of $. My suggestion is put it toward suspension and when you have more $ then decide what you want to do as far as go fast goodies.

amen
do it right. none of those will do much by themselves.
if you buy a catback, that would be a good start.
ctr cams? what about putting cam gears on at the same time? would save you some labor costs and you could actually tune your cams for optimum output, since you'd need to have them tuned anyways. are you going to rev higher? what about some vavle springs? get a clearer future goal and you could decide what to install along with the cams.
ctr pistons? why rip the head off just to replace the pistons? might as well shot peen the rods, and figure out what your ultimate goal is, because this is a labor-intensive modifcation, which, like the ctr cams, should have other things done at the same time to save yourself some cash + time.
header? it would do almost nothing by itself, except look pretty in the engine bay.
do it right. start with an intake. if you want to get the biggest bang for your buck, try nitrous. otherwise, do it right.

CTR pistons.
Why? Compression will make or break the motor. If the JDM B18C has 10 more HP over the stock B18C1 and it's 10.8 : 1 CR. Imagine the gain you would feel if you upped it to 12:1 CR.
You cannot run agressive cams without high compression. Well you can, but they will not produce the amount of power they are capable of making.
My friend has ITR cams in his 2000 GSR and since he is still on the stock 10.4 : 1 CR he is feeling very little gains. My 95 GSR still walks the dog on him and I have stock cams.
So to put it this way. If we bought the same mods, on the same car, and the only difference is that I installed CTR pistons on my car. I'd lay down almost 10-20% more power than you. Guarneteed.
Even with JUST the pistons, you will notice a SIGNIFICANT increase in power.
I'm planing to take my car to the dyno soon. I hope to lay down around 170whp with just the CTR pistons and my minor modifications.

my suggestion. blanced SPOON cams. I am a distributor and can get you an amazing price on the set so let me know. the normal retail is 998. but my price is much better than that.
I agree with some of the above people, save up and do it right.
Why are so many people in such a rush to hook-up their cars?
It annoys the **** out of me to see people do half-*** jobs on their cars just because they are being impatient and want a fast, cool car in a few months...
You will be much happier in the long run when you are actually satisfied with what you had done in the first place instead of replacing parts and stuff that you bought because you rushed everything.....
