I put a SI head on my d15b1. I was wondering what timing mark on the cam gear are you guys using; the dx horizontal marks, or the SI 7 o'clock mark?
I first tried the SI mark but the motor ran rough/put the cam gear at the dx marks and the motor runs very smooth. Its just the pick up isnt what i expected. I can hardly tell the difference, hardly being the keyword. I know the gains arent crazy, but i should be able to tell right? So i was just wondering if i should try the SI mark again. What are you guys set at? Thanks
*D15b1 block, 90SI head, mpfi swap, no CEL-well VSS. all help is appreciated.

were you already driving for a while with the MPFI swap before swapping heads, or did you do both at the same time?
the B1 and A6 heads are Identical except for the cam and valvesprings, and those are just slightly different. You're not going to feel a huge difference with just the head swap.
now, if you're ready for a serious improvement, swap in an Si tranny. the lower gears makes an amazing difference.

I did the mpfi swap the same time as the head swap. Like i said in the first post, i know the gains arent that great, but there should be some sort of gain that i should be able to notice...right? The only thing I could think of was the 4spd tranny, i know thats really putting a damper on the motors "go". Thanks for the reply.
*i'd still like to know if the dx cam markings are the ones i should stay with. Anyone using the SI markings with success? TIA
