Default Opinions on friends "interesting" setup

Well Ive got a friend that doesnt like to listen much so maybe you guys can shed some light on this subject for him. He has a '94 VX hatch and was convinced by some interesting locals to go all motor on an LS motor. Supposedly its B18A with B16 tranny, GSR IM (I dunno how you monkey this to fit) and they are supposedly rigging the secondaries to open ????. As far as whatever else they are doing nobody really knows. Its supposedly going to be "built" however hes only paying 3k for the motor, all work, and install so it cant be anything too impressive. Even if it was, last I checked on here for a fully built NA LS it was puttin down 165hp and 129lbs at the wheels. Claims are to run 14s to high 13s in Las Vegas, and the last time I was at the track out here that doesnt seem too likely to happen. Oh yeah and even better, they are claiming to run 12s with nitrous, faster than my friends Supra with front mount, exhaust, and boost controller. I dunno, sounds fishy, you guys have any opinions. Thanks.

For 3 grand he can't be getting that much. I mean the motor is like 500bux, the tranny is like 600, pistons are rods are like 800 plus water pump, oil pump, timing belt, headgasket, bearings, milling, decking, boring, honing, it another 400.

That's 2300.00

Still needs axles, shiftlinkage, ecu, hondata or a vafc, etc...
plus he has to pay for labor. Plus that's it, no money left for cams or valvetrain. Not to mention that motor won't put out **** for power.

Your friend is having his chain pulled!

Is it a LS nonvtec? or a vtec head on a ls block? My allmotor nonvtec LS ran a 12.4 @ 108 so it is pos. to make power and ran good #'s with a ls motor.
