AC Compressor Problem w/1992 Honda Prelude w/H22A4 and a P13
I own a 1992 Honda Prelude SI 4WS. It came with a P14 in it and an H23A1.
I have put in an H22A4 and a P13. I have noticed my AC compressor will not
turn on. My Honda mechanic says it is because the ECU is not the original
one. I compared all the wiring and the points on the harness line up. Is
it posible that the ECU works differently for the compressor. If this is true, has anyone figured out a way around this probelm???

I have the same thing but my Prelude is not an 4WS. It doesn't matter what motor is in your car. You might have disconnected a wire or something. Check the wire to make sure it is getting power if so then it might be your compressor which i don't see happining.
Just check the connection at the compressor and see if power if there.

Did you fix the problem? My mechnic says the problem is the ECU. what was the reason for your problem?

Do you have to know your ECU code? I am looking for the full code, not just P13. That would help greatly. Thanks

Who did the engine swap? How did they do it? I mean did they use the stock 5th gen (h22a4) engine harness and then just piggy back the wires to the ecu? I'm interested in knowing because in 93 there wasn't vtec prewired, so I know someone had to do some work and I'd like to know how they did it. And as far as the ac goes... take the whole thing off and throw it in the junk. I say this because you will save gas, horsepower, and wieght all at the same time, and all for FREE. This will also fix your problem!I never regreted taking mine out when I did the swap. Good Luck with everything.

Move to the Mid-Atlantic and then you will have regrets. This is the humidity capital of the world/ The AC stays along with my 100% JDM Climate Climate Control. And as far as all the svaings go, it only saves weight when it is not in operation and that is not a big deal for those of us who are into kitting our car out not racing it and shreding every last pound possible, Thanks
