I just found out that my #2 clyinder pressure is bad, my mechanic says that it is valves, to correct this can i just replace the valves or do i need head work to redo the seat(s)? Any help would be great.

ask him if he's run a leakdown.

it's probably the valve seals, and not the valves.

A leakdown will verify if your getting blowby through the rings or valve seals. However if its a certified mechanic i'm sure he'd know how to do that.

what is a leak down? he is certified, i am just curious for my self...let me know and thanks.

He did a wet and dry test, i do not know if that matters...and from that he said that it is not the piston rings, it is the valves...he also thinks that the valves just got burnt and they may be it...

But if not they will have to be reseated...now this is what worries me, i know that not every machine shop should port and polish honda heads(because most machine shops are used to v8 heads which are much different and most of the time screwing up the head), so does this mean i should be wary of a good machine shop reseating the valves?

Bump...also is there any way to tell if my valves are burnt or that the seats or the seals went bad? Please let me know.
