I just got scammed for $170 for a Civic Si Guage Cluster. It all started last week 7-22-03, when I paypaled him the money. He said he would be out of town until Thursday night and wouldn't be able to ship the cluster until the following day which was fine. Thursday night I get an IM from him saying "I will ship it out tomorrow and email you the tracking number." That's the last I heard from him. It has been 6 days now and I haven't heard anything from this guy. No tracking number, he doesn't respond to my emails or IM's, and his last post was 7-22-03. Below is a link to his ad, which I bought into. Stupid me!!

Before I comment on your story, let me tell you about something that happened to me. I bought something off a HT member on here, paypal'd the money and that person told me they would ship it out the next day. A couple days later I ask for a tracking number.. and nothing. So I look into their profile and get their aol IM screen name and send them a message over aol, and still nothing. 7 days later i'm wondering what the hell, is this person avoiding me? I sent them several messages over aol and HT and nada. So I start to wonder if I should start calling this person out, several emails and IM's and AOL IM's and nothing. Next thing I get a package in the mail and there it is, installed it right away and worked like a charm. I then realize it was 5 business days from when he claimed to ship it. Point of my story is, some ppl sell ****.. send it and go on with their lives. And there are some that procrastinate, forget and leave it for another day.. dont check their emails and so on. Also dont count weekeneds. Give it 5 to 7 business days from when they "claim" to ship out your stuff. And if you get it then that person would be classified as an unreliable seller, or a moron, not a scammer. If not, then start trying to get your money back, contacting paypal ect.. And if you end up getting your cluster, nos_b16 is still an *** in my book for not keeping in contact, but not nessesarily a sammer since you ended up getting what you paid for.

haven't seen him since.

didn't have enough moeny with him to buy some tires - since he was local i thought i could trust him -- wrong.

the longer you wait...the more they slip from you....if you have doubts report it asap... what kinda seller ignores **** when trying to be contacted....

you are exactly right, time is of the essence. I have still heard nothing from this guy, and I don't think I ever will.
