Im trying to decide what the next step is going to be with my car. I have a b18a in a 90 crx. Right now i have a turbo kit that i put together for it...but im starting to have doubts about it because its my daily driver and i dont wanna blow the thing up. Well a friend of mine REALLY wants my kit...so he asked me if i want to trade some stuff for it. My kit consists of a revhard mani with a t3/t4(both have less than 4k miles on it), a custom spearco IC, hks ssq bov, all piping, msd inline pump and a 12:1 fmu...and a bunch of misc stuff. He wants to trade me a built ls head with dual valve springs, crower 404's, valve guide seals, and a slight p&p and a skunk2 IM, plus used DC 4-2-1 headers, aem intake, a VIS cf hood, and some used slicks wth very few passes left on them. I drive this car ALOT...so i want it to be reliable. I know that it would be alot faster boosted....but the reliability thing is what im concerened about. What would you guys do? Im not made of money so i cant just replace the engine if it blows...id have to save up for a while. Im torn on this man...i dont know what to do. Thanks

put the kit on and dont run shitloads of boost
you wont blow anything up runnin less than about 6 pounds. but if youre really that worried run less, itll be faster than stock either way bro.

NA motors tend to have drivability issues, you are pushing the engine to the edge of it's envelope, moving the powercurve higher, which leads to poor gas milage, bad idle, bad throttle responce and no low end. keep the turbo.

Put the turbo in run like 5 p.s.i and dont beat the **** out of it and it will be fine. Remeber dont run your car cold with a turbo let it warm up and dont get in boost on humid days cause that will kill your motor.

sounds like a good setup..do you have any plans on a clutch or anything, because im not sure how long that will last with stock clutch..you will love the turbo'd b18 though ive heard alot of good things about that combo.

keep the setup, run low boost(just like everyone else said) and tune it (im surprised only one other person said this). you get it tuned right you wont have problems, even not tuned, runnin 5-6 psi will be fine, wont have any driving problems.
sell it all, including the car and buy a bike. But if you Must keep the car... boost it. as long as you are smart about it, there is no reason it will not be just as reliable as a stocker
