OT: Gum in carpet?
The other day I drove my brother home from a party. He must have stepped into some gum, because now it is in the removable floor mat behind the passenger seat.
Has anyone ever had gum in their floor mats before? What did you use to get it out? Any recommendations on what to do? The spot on my carpet is not that bad, about an inch in diameter.

I have never had this problem before, but I think if you get it real cold you may be able to break it off. I am not for sure on this, so wait for someone else to give some ideas, if they don't I guess this is a good starting point
good luck !

good luck !
I remember using that Goof Off stuff, now that you guys mention it. I used to work at CompUSA (what a waste), and we used it on the sticky stuff left by stickers that came on the computer.
I thought about using something really cold like freon or dry ice. I even have access to liquid nitrogen (-170°C, I think) here at work. But if I was to freeze the gum, I would probably freeze and destroy the carpet in the process.
