O2 Sensors
Failed my emissons inspection due to '...an O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2).' Does the Bank 1 Sensor 2 mean the fron or the rear sensor? I've heard they are easy to replace.

If you have a H23 it is very easy to replace. Just costs a bit. You can't replace just the heater you have to get a whole new O2 sensor. If you read in most repair manuals they will tell you that you must have a special O2 sensor tool. You don't just use a wrench. Might take a bit of strength but then there is a plug about 8" up the wires. Just incase you don't know exactly where it is... It's on the A pipe right before the flex pipe section. can't miss it.
If your a stickler for using OEM honda replacement, try hparts.com. They quoted me a hundred bucks less than the local dealer for my primary o2 on my 5gen.
But you can find non-Honda sensors even cheaper than that.
And yes, it's easy - like these folks already said. Easier than an oil change.

Just an FYI, there is no bank 2 sensors on our cars. Bank 1 Sensor 2 is the one after the cat. Bank 2 would be like in a v8 were you had 2 sets of o2 sensors for each header.
Ok, so I spliced the wires and changed out the sensor. Why is the console light still on. I tried to reset the computer by disconnecting the battery - no luck. Any recommendations?

You didn't need to splice any wires. If i were you, take and follow the wires that you spliced and it should lead to a grayish type plug. Just unclip that part, then take the new sensor and screw it into it's bung on the exhaust, then connect the plug to the original location where the old one was plugged in. It's that simple. Take the radio/clock fuse out for about 30 secs. under your hood (it's labeled under the fusebox cover), start your car, let it get to operating temperature without hitting the gas. Turn the car off and the car should in 'new' learning mode to diagnose the new o2 sensor in closed loop. This should also clear the ECU code that was originally in memory. Good luck, it's easy
he could have gotten a universal O2 sensor, like BOSCH makes, and spliced into the exisiting wires.
the universal o2 sensors do not come with the factory plug to plug right in, you must splice into your existing plug to make it work
