how do you install a skunk2 lower tie bar??
I was wondering how to install a lower tie bar? I looked underneath and if i remove the two bolts in the back won't the whole suspension come apart? Do i need to use jacks to hold it up and then take one bold off and connect one part of the bar and then do the other side?

yes
do use a jack to bring the car off the ground.
do remove one bolt at the time.
do swear and curse as the bolts will missalign

thanks. I put a front strut bar on yesterday and i had trouble with the holes lining up. I bet its a lot harder for the lower bar. i might just give in and pay a shop.
i'm not sure if it applies to your car as well, but on mine, i noticed that the lower control arm bolts are tapered... so i use a rubber mallet to make sure they go in properly.
I gave in today and took it to the shop. It cost 50 and they put the bar on and then had to lower my hks hiper exhaust because it kept rattleing. But the car handles a lot better now.
Im having a problem installing my skunk2 tie bar on my GSR. The tie bar is an inch narrower than the distance between the LCA joints. It wont even span the distance between the LCA bolt holes? WTF? How do you resolve this?

yah, i had that bar on my civic, and dosent it adjust by screwing the ends?!? i mean yah... might wanna try that. and itz not that bad... a rubber mallet or actual HAMMER is like NECCESSARY for installation.
yeah i watched the shop install it and it looked like a pain. They had to get a crow-bar to get the old bolts off, and then hammer the new ones in.
I didnt know the bar was adjustable. No one told me, there was no documentation. But the ends screw to lengthen or shorten!I installed it after 2 hours of f*cken aroud with it. Had fitment issues with the stock sway bar bracket and the ABS bracket. Not to mention hard to line up the LCA bolts. But it looks bad ***! havent tried it out yet
how did you address the Brake brackets? I will be doing the same tonight....also, was it tough to get the bolts out of the frame?

For now the ABS brackets were left hanging until I can jerry rig some thing else. Im disapointed the tie bar spacers are not long enough to avoid hitting the ABS brackets.
It was not that tough to get the bolts out however I have done alot of suspension work on my car (springs, bars, bushings) so most of the bolts have already been taken out before. If you havent ever taken the LCA bolts out before, You deff should spray them with some penetrating spray the day before.

good to hear....I was hoping I would be able to grind down the bracket a bit so that the bar fits around it....
any reviews on tie bars?

I put on a sk2 upper front strut bar and lower tie bar on at the same time and noticed a big difference in high speed handleing. Right now that is the only suspension upgrade but it won't be the last. It also helped to reduce my tire squeal on hard corners and it made the handleing more predictable.
hey guys,
got the tie bar on with little or no problems....(using a air rachet to help out!!)
car feels great and the car feels planted.....
thanks for your help!

My suspension is nearly complete. With Koni Yellows, Ground Controls (400F/400R), Skunk2 front strut bar, Skunk2 rear strut bar, Skunk2 lower tie bar.
I was surprised in the difference the tie bar made. But I have also noticed it only improves high speed handeling. Anything under 40 and I still understeer.
