I got a buddy with a mini (that is actually looking to sell), and I was just talking with him about putting an R engine into it. It will fit right?











Currently under the hood...a 1300CC engine with 300 miles on it .

 

I believe the swap is doable and there are sites about the conversion. But don't do it to that poor mini truck, it looks like its in great condition. Find a beater mini and do a rebuild and then do a swap.

I agree, that truck is awesome and looks flawless. Dont ruin it with a swap. Someone needs to put an ITR motor on a riding lawnmower

chassis should be the same yes...I IM'd D earlier to see if he knew of anyone who might want to buy it, and I was wondering if there was a difference with an LS/GSR vs Type-R swap on a mini...it should be the same. And for those that are saying it...YES the car is flawless

Yeah, there are a couple companies that sell bolt-in subframes for the motor and all the necessary parts needed for the conversion.

 

everything will fit in it, just how much money is going to cos you u can fit a M5 engine in it too if u want

Currently... i've been fabricating a jig for the front subframe... about 40% complete. many suspension components have been blasted and are ready for paint. I'm currently waiting on a tranny.... and in the market for a B16 head/IM/TB/distro to then cut apart the subframe, bend tubes, and fabricate mounts.

it doesn't just 'fit'... it's going to be tighter than a virgin on prom night.

I'd love to have a vintage Mini, although I have to say I wouldn't stuff a B-series in
it. I'm a vintage car nut, and I like the idea of keeping things original (or close to it).
