I have a little CRX that has the original carbed I-4 motor, I believe it's an 87 or 86, the last year before they switched to fuel injection. The best way to describe this hesitation is if you were to give someone that has never driven a stick before the chance to drive it. Basically it has some terrible hesitation at around 2500-3500 rpms in all gears. It's so bad that you have to tickle the throttle and clutch at times to get into first gear. When you are running down the highway the hesitation is still present but the momentum of the car is enough to pull it through.

We tried to adjust the timing but it did not really have much effect with the hesitation. Does anyone have some suggestions on what should be replaced, checked, etc.? Thanks in advance for the advice
