broke a sensor what is it?
i'm rebuilding my engine. while i was starting to put everything about together i dropped
a sensor and on of the prongs broke. this is for a nonobd b18a. i've been searching for 5DAYS!!! straight now and nobody has any idea what the hell this stupid sensor is. sorry i lost my cam so i can't take a pic of it. it goes in the back of the block by the oil filter. i know its not the oil sender(cause i order one to see if it was it), there are 3 sensors by the oil filter. 2 of them only have 1 little prone and the one i broke
had 2 prongs that. does ANYONE know what the hell this sensor is cause this is what i'm waiting on so i can finish my rebuild. need to know this like yesterday, been without my baby for 2 1/2 weeks now. i'm forced to drive this stupid mustang. NEED HELP!!!

why dont you continue your buld and when you crank the car the ecu should throw a code for whatever sensor is missing bead or what have you.
Some older Tegs have the cooling fan switch on the back of the block-two round prongs on it. When the engine reaches a certain temp., the switch closes the circuit for the cooling fans and the fans come on.
If its the fan switch or some kinda secondary fan switch, the ECU probably has no way of knowing if it's working or not.
My B18C1 has a knock sensor back there somewhere, maybe?? The ECU will throw a code for that.

well i hope my ecu throw's something out cause i can't even find the stupid sensor in my haynes book or my service manual

the sensor goes directly into the block by the filter yes. um, dunno what you mean by round posts. but it has 2 prongs separate from each other.

just a reminder all this sensors are not in place
the coolant or the oil will leak.
so they all need to be in place and make sure you put tefflon tape around it
so that you dont have any leaks.
ps
the ls/block does not have any knock sensor.

This is probably the knock sensor. It's probably cheap, it's just a tiny microphone type of thing. Just run down to your local Honda parts counter and order one, or at least find out exactly what it is and which other cars have the same one so you can get a used one from somebody here. It can't be that bad.
