Soon I will be needing to replace my t/b and water pump. I just heard a lot of people talking about installing a electric water pump, is it worth it or no? TIA.....

 

I asked the same question a while back. IMO... to some people yes. Like pushing 400 whp drag only car.

For us street tuners. No. I dont know of any with adjustable flow rate, so you will lose your heating functions. So if you get one, wear extra thick clothes in the winter time.

They do help free up parasitic power loss from the engine though, but it's pushing unstreetable functionality. Also the lifespan on some of those units are shorter than the OE water pumps.

Another thing, There are some clearence issues with electric water pumps and aftermarket intakes. I know if I bought the Meziere water pump it wouldn't clear my comptech shorty/icebox.

 

if you have ever removed your AC and your power steering you would notice that the new found response in acceleration puts a grin on your face.

fyi while on the topic of response. get stiffer motor mounts and youll get an extra grin.

now get rid of more things that rob hp like that water pump and man are you gonna like the response of your motor. might be only a couple of ponies saved but if your talking NA power...shoot we bolt on an exhaust for what? 5-7whp max???? every whp costs a lot in out game.
