Default Semi O/T but was there ever a RWD Civic?

My friend insists that some 1G Civics were RWD. I looked up transmissions parts on http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com and the parts are unmistakably FWD. Is my friend a dumbass? I thought 1G Civics were chain driven and I fail to see chain driven RWD as having any point. I'm asking this here because most of the old school Civic people are in here.

I think your thinking of the CR-NSX which was technically a CRX not a Civic (not that they aren't the same damn thing).

But when I ask this I mean OEM RWD, not custom.

I insist there never were any OE RWD 1G civics.

if there were, it was not OE and/or it was not USDM.

Actually I was thinking of this: http://www.aemintakes.com/race_steph.asp
Stephan Papadakis' RWD civic. got the 3.0L Acura NSX motor.

Buy yeah, back to the real topic. I just thought I'd add that bit in. I too have never seen an OE rwd civic. I think your friend needs to make sure he wipes.

I think in the 60's the S600 and S800 were RWD, but then they were obviously not civics. Then the NEXT RWD Honda was the S2000.
