Celica Seats into 4th Gen...Pics!
I've always chose to take the cheap and ingenuitive route instead of the easy and expensive; especially w/ cars. So when I found a set of TRD Celica seats for $175, I knew I wanted them. The challenge was making them fit.
All that was necessary was to take some steel bar-stock and bend to the correct angles, drill holes where necessary, bolt it all together, and grind down the sides of the buckles. I don't have access to a camera, so this is the only pic i have of them in the car:
I'll get more detailed pics later.
When I first got them in, the difference was like night and day. The Celica seats were much softer and comfortable, and they sat much lower and flatter. I thought it might be a problem, but after some "spirited" driving, I found they hold me in very well, and the lower stance gives me much better reach and control of the pedals, and more room from my legs to the steering wheel.
They were definitely worth the effort, but I did notice that the stock lude's seats had more aggressive side bolsters; other than that, they were better in every way. I also have height-control in these, so they were an upgrade!
I thought this would be technical, so I put it in here. Move it if you mods see fit
Let me know what ya think!

Nice but I think I would prefer the 4th gen seats more. Them side bolsters come in handy when you're an Asian dude!
Looks pretty good. I'm eventually going to get some racing seats for my lude not only for support around the turns but also for a little weight reduction. (Vtec leather seats right now) Would like to get 11-14lb seats.

Other than the lighter gray backing, I thought the seats looked fine; everyone says they look like race seats from the factory.
Although the side bolsters aren't as aggressive, they hold very well.
I'll have pics of the brackets later in the day, and excuse the dirty car; it's been outta commission and it's on stands!

Uhh..S2000 seats go for much more than $175. That would be a lot of saving up to do. Personally, I think the celica seats look great in your car! And definitely different!

What's your problem, bud? Who rammed you from behind a bit too hard this morning?
Puttin in a better set of seats is bad? ooooookkkkkkkaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy...........
You don't even know me; there's no way to judge someone off of a single mod they did. I actually think I've made a fairly nice car w/ a very small amount of money. I'm not in it to go all out, or be the best, just to simply make a quick and unique car w/ what I can afford.
Oh, and just FYI: I'm building an H23 VTEC as we speak, w/ a decent shot of nitrous goin on as soon as I break the motor in.

I thought it looked good.I'm not one for mix matching parts from different companies, but you did a good job.I'm sure most people just assume that they're aftermarket,I probably would at first glance.
here's pics of the "brackets":
The back-inside bracket didn't get a pic, but it was just a 90 degree bend w/ holes drilled appopriately.
The brackets were made of bar-stock steel, not sure what kind. It's very strong, though, and I used strong bolts, so I'm not worried about anything failing.
Like I said before, looking at them from the front, they look very much factory; i don't really like how the back's are light gray, I may try to fix that one day, but for now they're fine to me.
EDIT - Sorry bout the dirty floors, i've been too busy tryin to build the motor to get it running again.

Not for nothing, to the people flaming on the seats, whether you like them or not, you can't beat $175 for a pair of nice looking (in my opinion) seats (stock or aftermarket). I'm sure if anyone could find recaro's for $175, they'd jump all over it.

1) Do those seats sit higher than the stock Prelude seats with your retrofit job? It looks like they are a bit higher.
2) Cripes man! For the love of God, vaccuum your car!

1 - no, actually they sit much lower and flatter than the stockers, which surprised me. After a bit of driving, I prefer this stance MUCH more, it just feels better.
2 - I know, i know....there's just no motivation in cleaning a non-running car
