FOUND IT-4.44 FD for an L3 Tranny-Now Help Me Locate One!!!
1989 to 1993 Integra ZXi
1989 to 1991 Integra RXi
Both cars apparently carried D16 ZC powerplants and L3 cable trannys with a 4.44 FD. EXACTLY what I need!!!
Now... Anybody got any good contacts for older JDM tranny parts? Offering eternal gratitude and good beer to the person who puts me on the right track.

You may see if these guys can import you one, as they get lots of parts from Japan. http://www.passwordjdm.com/
OK...
Just talked to my contact at Auto Adventure. He says that he's built a few of these trannys and offered the following advice. I don't really understand trannys and JDM lingo, so hope this helps.
1) He says that it's a "ZC tranny" in his lingo, that you're looking for. Which basically comes from the ZC twin cam engines.
2) You want to make sure that you get the intermediate shaft with it. Evidently they're full splined, all the way thru.
3) Use a Left and Right input shaft from a 90 integra. He says that the left is full splined and the right is half splined.
4) Use 2 right side axles from a 89-91 Civic si
He doesn't have one in stock right now, but they got one a couple of weeks ago from "Japanese Engines" in Forest Grove. The phone number is 503-356-8055.
He also said to look up this place>>> http://tech.hybridgarage.com/ He says this is an excellent site for info on specs etc...
I really don't understand 10 percent of the above, so sorry if it's not too usefull.

Check on eBay. I've seen at least 3-4 SOHC ZCs on there in the last few days. Maybe the seller may also have the tranny you need. Search on "SOHC ZC"...
I don't know if he takes requests, but the guy I bought my LSD from is pretty good. "japandy" on eBay, maybe he takes requests?

Thanks guys.
So far I'm still coming up with nothing, but there has to be one out there somewhere.
And I still haven't even nailed down what FD was in the EF Civic Wagon. It was likely either a 4.25 or a 4.4.
The help and leads are much appreciated.

Is the hybrid board still active?

Maybe somebody there has a lead.

I think I'm throwing in the towel on this one.
I've contacted just about everyone there is to contact. Those who do have JDM L3 cable trannys from SOHC ZCs simply ASSUME they came from Civics and have the close ratio box with the 3.88 FD. I only talked to one person who knew the 4.4 Integra box even existed.
So... In short... They're out there, but they don't appear to be marked and nobody is taking them apart to see because it is assumed they are Civic boxes.
Makes one wonder how many stunnas are out there driving around on what they THINK is a JDM close ratio box when it is actually the Integra box (same gearing as the US Sis with a 4.44 FD).
Kinda funny when you think about it, cause you KNOW they're out there.
My last hope is the Wagon box, which is still a mystery. After that its either deal with what I have or shell $1200 to Houseman for a custom job.
Obviously since I'm unemployed right now, that question is already answered.

just curious, what's the IT rule on update backdate? could you just use a 5-speed box? (i assume not since if you could you probably already would have) what about switching the gearsets instead of the FD?
just trying to think outside the box and present ideas that you may or may not have already thought of. i'm not really familiar with IT rules either, so most of what i typed above is probably useless anyhow.

Japan Direct is located like a stone throw from where i work. if you want, i can go check there and see what they have. or just call and ask them and i can take some pics and make sure its EXACTLY what you want.
Any help is appreciated.
The only catch is that if you're looking at the tranny you pretty much need to know what it came out of to know what's in the case. I imagine the Integra box is slightly different, but all of them are labelled "L3."
Now... If someone just happened to have a 4.44 ring and pinion laying around, that'd be sweet.
Scott, who got further verification today that this piece does exist, and further verification that nobody seems to have one
