Default Question for those running Skunk2 Stage 2 Cams on a B16

I just installed these cams and cannot get them to activate VTEC below 6000 without hesitation or sputtering. Anything 6k and over works well and it seems 7k is just about right (without going to the dyno).

I haven't tuned them yet but was curious as to why I can't set them lower than 6k.

Thanks for any input!

get rid of your stock header and use a 4-1 type header, it could be jdm or usdm.. you got really big cams and they need to breath.. (skunk2 intake manifold, 62mm throttle body, ported head, 2.5 exhaust, etc) there not drop in cams like skunk stage 1.. you will also need to get your ecu chipped to take advance of those cams.. i hope you increased your compression as well.

umm yea you should really get them tuned.... as for setting them under 6k its obviously doing that for a reason.... not enough air, not enough fuel, who knows. But you should head to the dyno and experement with different settings there until you get it right.

Every car is different.

I've got everything you mentioned except the proper compression (I'm running 10.5:1). Tech support at Skunk2 says I need at least 11.5:1.

Since I'm not swapping pistons, I'm going try and trade these cams for stage 1's.

Thanks!
