Alright, im installing my coilovers and i was wondering, will the springs shoot down? When will they do this, when i loosen the last bolt thats in the engine bay? Also, i had another question, for the orings, are you supposed to put them under the split sleeve or on each end? And the strut sheild, should i just cut it down or not use it at all. Also, what does this mean -
If the spring will be under tension, mark the orientation of the strut top with the strut body before removing the strut top. You don't want to have reorient the plate again and again until you get it right! If the spring is loose, you have no worries since you can spin the strut since the strut shaft rotates
Im looking here for my directions - http://honda.hybrids.jp/ap02/ff/gckit.shtml

So take the struts/springs out starting at the bottom bolts and what not and working up to the chassis bolts, they wont shoot out?If they were to shoot out, which direction would they go in (hopefully not twords my head) How long did it take you to install? Also, what does it mean by this ...

well the 3 ft breaker bar worked great!
Now my question is, got the struts out, but how do i take off the top part of the strut, the middle bolt without losing stuff, etc.. cause it looks like the spring would make it all fly off? Also, is there anything i need to be careful about being lined up.. as i said above, i still dont know what that means!

when i did it i didnt take apart the whole top of the strut. i just unscrewed the top of the strut and dropped just the strut/spring body right out the bottom, that way you dont have to worry about lining up all you do is stick it back up through the hole and screw it in.
groundzero, check your IM.
be careful taking the top hat off...the spring is under tension!
and you can do what lowlife4life said but i think you are past that point (spring/shock combo is out of the car).

hmm well if i put the strut back in and fastened the two side bolts in the engine bay, then could i just undo the middle one and let the spring shoot/drop into a bucket with a towel?

I'm getting ready to put my coilovers in too. So did you take the middle bolt that threads onto the strut rod off while the strut/spring assembly was still mounted? And nothing went wizzing by your head?

well what i did was, put the assembly back up through the engine bay, fastened the 2 side bolts again, then loosened the middle one, and then took it all out, when it was out, i took a bucket and a towel, put the top part in the bucket, and loosened the rest of the middle bolt.. when it came out, the spring flew back and some other random things.. but not much came undone.. but..

Alright, do i need the dust cover? Is the dust cover the same thing as the "strut shaft shield" that you are supposed to cut down? If i dont need this part.. if its the same part.. do i still need the black washer?

Thats a great idea
I might have to try that next time I do shocks/springs.

thats kinda what i was gonna do, but then i decided to take the whole thing out and do it on the ground.. it was just as easy.. but then i had those few washers that confused me.. now for the split rubber piece.. it wasnt tight enough under the ajuster.. it moved around, so i put duct tape over the strut to make it larger, then the split rubber piece.. then the ajuster over that.. is that alright?

Special thanks to - lowlife4life, and keithv! You guys are the best.. thanks for being patient with all of my questions!
Tommorow i will be doing the back!
Also, when the ajuster is all the way at the top, this means its on the highest setting (high as in not low ridin!)?
