Front mount on B16a? This isn't in the hasport kit, does it just bolt up?
I am putting a b16 in my 88 hatch. I am putting in the hasport mount kit, but I just saw today that there is a front mount on the b16 that isn't included in the mount kit. Does this mount bolt up to the stock location, or do I just leave that mount out? What's the deal?
Yeah the hasport kit doesn't have a front mount and you don't really need it.
The HCP kits does include a front mount.

The HCP kit does not include the front mount, the HCP kit is a three piece kit just like Hasport. If you buy the HCP race kit it has the front mount, I have it. We had to modifiy the front bracket but I'm really glad that I have the front mount on there.
Negative. I didn't buy the race kit and I have the front mount. I haven't put it on, because I didn't want to mess with the front bracket. But it did come with my kit.
This was also over a year ago, so I don't know if they changed or not.

They still offer it but it is called the (Race Version), it's about $30 extra. You have to be pretty creative to make it work but I imagine it can only help with wheel hop concerns. I could take some pictures later on if anyone wants to see what is necessary to make it work.

It may not be needed but I think if you plan on doing any type of high power applications with your B power plant you probably should use it to reduce wheel hop.

With my B series swap i had to cut the front cross member. due to the limited space for the header. a cut cross member doesnt last long while its cut . so i have to replace it with an after market cross member which does not have a location for the front mount to bolt on. so make sure you dont have to cut your cross member before you spent the extra money and time on a fron mount. I beleive only certain 4-2-1 headers will fit without cutting.

most people can get away with using only 3 aftermarket mounts since the bushings are made of polyurethane which is much stiffer than the stock rubber mounts.
