Hi all
My plan is to drop a h22a into a 1991 Accord. I have a few questions which are not answered in the h22a into 4th gen swap on h22a.org or archives...
1) Are f22 and h22 trannies geared differently? will the h22a tranny work on the 4th gen and mount up correctly or will the mounts need modified? Archives seem to say use the prelude mount or tap stock mount? anyone with experience care to tell me what needs done here? Archive info seems to say the same for drivers side motor mount as well...
2) Will I use the f22 axles or h22 axles? I am assuming the f22 axles work...
3) h22a ECU seems to work along with the adition of vtec wires, right? Anything else I need to worry about with ECU setup?
4) Anything else I need to worry about when doing the swap and any custom parts that I need to order? radiator, slim fans...
5) Seems line fuel feed line needs lengthened, anything else ?
6) Which year H22a motor/tranny combo is recommended for the 4th gen accords? Any OBD1 USDM or JDM, right?
Thanks a lot!

1. yes, they are geared differently. however, you will have to drill and tap the "factory bosses" on the Prelude casisng to place the accord mount properly. This is fairly easy.
2. You will re-use the f22 axles.
3. H22 ecu is a plug-in, but the additional wire for VTEC will be added.
4. nothing to worry about.
5. swap the f22 fuel rail onto the h22.
6. 92-95 obd1

Thanks, both you guys. That was very useful.
Clearance is an issue, so I will do t-belt, water pump etc before I even drop it in. Maybe a header as well...
I see that there is a euro-typer accord intake manifold on hmotorsonline.com ! Will using it create more space or will it not work on the h22a OBD1 motors!
Thanks, again!

what about putting the h22 tranny with the f22 tranny mounts.
will u have to reuse the f22 mounts because alot of my friends will 4th gen accords with h22 swaps cut up that front mount pretty good.

From my searches on here, I read that you use the f22 tranny mount and in order to have the tranny bolt on straight, a few holes on the H22A tranny that are unused will need tap and dyed to help the mount bolt on.... Other engine mounts are standard f22 mounts...
Hope this helps!
*EDIT* The above is specifically for the 4th gen 90-93 accords. I am not sure about 94+ accords.
