Default changed rotors and found cv boot loose

Last weekend I changed the front rotors on my wife's 90 Accord. She was complaining about a shimmy when she applied the brakes. I picked up a pair of Brembo drilled and slotted rotors because of the problems I've read about here regarding the stock rotors. In the process I discovered that the driver's side half shaft boot was loose and the grease was thrown out onto the suspension. It was an easy fix since I had the hub pulled off anyway. After putting everything back together and test driving it the shimmy was gone. I think part of the problem was the halfshaft because another problem (vibration at most speeds) cleared up also.
Anyone else experience shimmy/vibration problems corrected by half shaft replacement?
