Question...does anybody have takata harnesses mounted with an autopower rollbar?
since the takatas are made to mount to the car itself with the clip/eyebolt and not to wrap around the harness bar on the autopower...
pics would be extra helpful

what you can do, is still mount the takatas to your stock rear mount points (wrapping them over the harness bar), though, i would recommend getting a 5 pt if possible
the 4 pt sparcos i have are annoying as they ride up on me, and im not a big beer belly dude.

But, takata's aren't FIA cert. are they? I know price is moot with you Marc, especially since I still owe you $$$.

Don't want to take this too far OT though for a shut so nuff said. So see you soon, I gotcha at Watkin's or sooner.

Ok, Ok... back on topic (God knows I should be sleeping now, but anyway...)
Is there anyway you can take the clip out of the belt by cutting some threads or something. I don't mean cutting the belt, because that would obviously weaken the belt threads. But the threads that are used to connect the belt back to itself.
The reason I say this is because my cheapo American non-JDM no bling bling G-force belts have no hardware on one end, so I can wrap it around the roll cage no problem. So maybe you can "open" the end of the Takata belts?

I think it is definitely time for us to have an R-speed end of summer cook out. Nothing ends a summer correctly like raw meat and an open flame!

i would like to avoid modify the belt itself...if possible
would it be safe/pass NASA tech, like soup said to go over the harness bar and mount the eyebolt to the stock rear seat belt points?

110% agreed!
And I love it when Rob cooks...
This time though, I will provide a bit more than my candid wit and unlimited humor, and tea (thanks always Oscar...)

marc, was that an additional $400 for the 5th point?
seriously, what a shitty design. we could drill the autopower for the eyebolts, but i think that is a last resort. lap belt will be no problem, but the sub belt and shoulder straps are gonna be an issue. just get a set of sparco/trw sabelt, rattlecan em' green and you'll be fine.

didn't realize that hardware was permenantly affixed to the shoulder straps
you can cut the strap and use regular slide bars

and then melt the ends of the belt so they don't fray

Who cares about the belts...lets start organizing this cookout
....
I am not sure drilling the roll bar is a good idea also. Unfortunately, because of Marc's desire to stay JDM, Soup's idea may be the only solution. Remember, it will pass tech at NASA HPDE, since we "self-tech." The main issue is if an instructor feels safe.

Agreed
We can pick fun at Marc's insatiable JDM fetish at the BBQ.
I could make the 10th or the 17th, not much more than that though Either day I'd miss a much needed autocross but, no biggie. Especially if were pretty much all going to Watkin's in September...
