need help fast, replaced alternator, now the car wont start

i forgot to disconnect the battery when replacing the alternator. when i was connecting the electrical connectors to the new alternator it sparked and made a audible poping noise. went to start up the car and nothing works, no domelight, no radio, nothing. did i blow a fuse? what should i check first?

got it!! the battery fuse went up. i wasnt sure how to check those big ones at first but i figured it out, thanks for all the fast responces.
