Review: TEIN SS on my EG and other Suspension...56k die...
i've recieved a few PM's about my suspension set up and I totally forgot to post a review, and I've had it on for a few week almost months..haha...so here goes..
Car: 92 Civic hatch VX w/ DOHC ZC (if that matters)
Suspension added: Tein SS coilover for 94-01 TEG, SRR rear LCA's, Progress 22mm rear sway bar.
I chose the TEG coils, due to the fact they have a stiffer spring rate in the rear. The EG SS model has 8k/4k setup while the TEG SS has 8k/6k set up. The TEG coils bolted right up no issues, swapped over the front brake line bracket and I was on my way. I used the stock upper strut mounts for now. The car rides amazing, 16 way adjustbles, I ride daily at 10/12 (yeah I know I should lower them) hehe Installation was easy took me and abuddy a few hours...
I got the SRR rear LCA's mainly to the fact that I did not want to mess with the LCA bolts for the struts. Some say it was a waste of money, but my stock LCA bushings were old and were pretty tore up. I like the added "bling factor" and it did save a bit a weight...haha...also I got em to add a sway bar later and due to my vx not having the endlink holes in the rear the SRR would let me add a sway in the future.
I picked up the Progress 22mm sway bar from a Friend, I wasn't planning on getting it but DAMN!!! I'm so glad I got it. Having a vx I have no sways whatsoever!!! My car is a blast!!! Some will say why not get the ITR beaks set up?? I like the progress and looked at it a long time go, and now one fell onto my lap, It connects differently than any other sway bar, it connects to the far inner LCA bolt for added subframe support, I really don't have to worry about ripping the frame, the endlinks don't connect to the lca's via the "endlink hole" they connect to the strut bolt a lil farther out. Good set up in my opinion.
The Car handles and looks great!! Some local AZHT members can vouch for this. I'd recomment these mods to anyone!!! Seriouly....if you guys have any question post up....
Special Thanks to: Johnn @ jaydm.com for hooking it up with a great price on the TEINS, Frank Lynn aka "Ghettoracer" for getting me the SRR LCA's, and To Dan, aka "B20bastard" for the great deal on the sway....I'd vouch for these 3 guys anytime...

Are you planning on getting an alignment anytime soon? Also any pictures of the coilovers themselves? Why did you choose the SS over the other models? Looks great btw.

Just odd because they are old engines and usually go into 88-91 civics and CRX's. They are underpowered as well, I would at least get an Z6 which is OBD1 for your car. I guess you got to do with what you have right? Good luck with everything and your car looks very nice.

my DOHC ZC is OBD1 stock....its out of a 91-94 hatch from japan...OBD1 ZC's also came in some Tegs in Japan....
Its not totally under power'd....130horse, 108lbs......a lil bit higher than the z6...I like the power.....in my light *** VX!!
