Where to buy aluminum interior door panels?
Just got my rollbar in a realized the door panels have to go, does anyone know where I can get aluminum panels that are shaped to my car doors (or universal ones) if possible? If not do I just use sheet aluminum.
What I did was drill through the plastic rivets that hold the panels together, and remounted the top part of the panel. That way, you still have the air going to the side windows (so that they don't fog up in the rain, which was a huge problem when I was running without them for a while), and there's clearance for the rollbar.
And the exposed crap at the bottom isn't too awful looking. I did end up platicoating the interior door pulls, as the cups for them were on the bottom part of the panels that I removed.
It's a decent middle ground that won't cost you anything. More money for

i agree...it shouldn't be that hard or take that much time especially if you have the old door panel to use as a template.

yeah I got ya, I just saw the opportunity to slip in a little F&F humor, I haven't seen pre fab aluminum door panels myself but it would be something that I don't think would be too difficult to make, buy some sheet metal and use sheers to cut out the shape and holes for the window crank or whatever else
Doesn't look like the same bar I have (Autopower) but can anyone confirm the 88 panels fit? And as for the pre cut panels, I saw them on a car once on this forum, the panel had a raised edge around the whole panel in a boxy shape, I don't need them this way, but if they were available I would probably have been interested, seems a little safer than just using rubber tube around the sharp edges.
Oh and of course it has to be pretty

if the x-brace bows out at all, you will rub the door panel (nevermind once you add cage padding). my window handle hits the padding on my cage (89 civic si).
you can see in this pic how close the bars come to the door:

My main hoops is hitting the back of the 90 door panels on the crx (door belts make for large panels) I only have a rear section rollbar not a cage so I don't have to worry about the crossbars. I'm buying the CRX 88 panels today, if anyone has tried this and know they DON'T FIT with the bar please IM me right away!
