Next modification(s)
Hey guys, it has been a while since I last posted about my car status but I've been working on getting what I had planned for when I first came here. Finally I've actually gotten somewhere!
So far this is what I've added to my 1991 Integra LS:
VIS Carbon Fiber hood
Apex'i N1 muffler (I should have gotten the catback but I didn't realize the gains at the time)
BOMZ CAI which I converted to a short ram
Ground Control coilovers and Koni Yellow shocks w/ custom spring rates
Now that I've gotten my suspension I am looking to boost my power some to even thing out a little. I don't want something terribly expensive, I am going to work and save up to rebuilt my motor and turbo it. Are there any parts I can get for the engine or otherwise to boost my hp and that I will still be able to use when I convert to a manual transmission?
Anything you guys suggest that I should look into for future modification would be great. I was thinking about getting a bucket seat and installing some racing harnesses but I dunno. Give me some ideas eh?

Do you realize how much money it's going to take to convert to 5spd and to add turbo kit?? That much money is going to be more than how much your car is worth!! Save the money, and get a better car.

What he said, not to use you as gunieu pig but i dont understand why people spend $ on mods that they won't use with turbo
My suggestion is sell the car if you want to turbo and start with a better platform. Manual conversion is expensive and also g2 tegs are a lot harder to turbo since you have alot less room to play with. more than likely your a/c will be gione for a basic kit. Sell it and get a g3 Ls and then go from there.

I'd go with the manual trans too. Get a GSR tranny so you get closer gear ratio's. Its not a total waste of doing the swap. he's probably gonna spend about 1,000 to 1,200 and for that price he's going to free up some HP get quicker E.T.'s And also in the process a Better tranny than the standard LS. You also might want to put in a new clutch and flywheel and a ATS Final drive if ur planning on boosting.
Best Advice: Take your time and put some quality parts in that tranny

bspec18,
im sorry but i totaly disagree. The key to a succesfull turbo honda is simplicity(KISS). Dont mess with things that dont need to be. The car as it sits is na and auto. To even start his turbo project he has to convert to manual right off the bat. Hence he's already begun to make things complicated. And im sorry but the conversion wont run him $1k. the going rate for a used gsr tranny is $750!!!!
Remember cars are not an investment yet we spend thousand of dollars modding them, why not spend $ wisely.

I've been told to sell my car for the better stick shift many times but I just can't do it.
My Integ is in very good condition and it has served me well! I'm willing to put the extra money into it to make this car that I already know is in good shape, to be in better shape. You all think it is probably a waste of money I know, but I guess in my opinion a car is your friend, not just a car.
Anyways I will take your advice and see about that conversion. I was told by a mechanic it would cost $3000 to do the whole job. That plus a couple of thousand to rebuilt my motor, another $3000 for a turbo. I bought the car for $6000 so I am putting well over that back into it lol. I think I might stick to upgrades that don't include me having to convert for another year or so. Work on the smaller things and just have everything planned for the conversion and boost.

Okay bud tell u what i have even better advice. Keep your car don't sell it since it's in good condition. But with the 6 thousand you plan on spending on tranny and built motor. Buy an integra shell 94-97 they go for about 1,500-2000 then buy a stock motor and turbo it,when it blows later down the line rebuild it. With the shell$2000, + ls motor $1,250 and a custom turbo kit $2000-2,500 thats cheaper than converting your car to manual and building motor when you dont have to.
What more can you ask for you keep your car(friend)
and you have a fast turbo integra.
Do what you want, but take advice from someone who has learned from thier mistakes already.

Hahaha yeah that could be a possibility. So you say turbo in an G2 won't work unless I remove my A/C? I knew there wasn't much space in this thing but that scares me lol. I've lived without A/C for long enough when I drove my Mustang. I can't give it up now haha. Any suggestions as to the type of place I would find a shell?
Very few people have managed to keepo a/c and turbo the g2. I mean i remember back in thew day it was a pain in the *** just to install the header. I love g2 this was my first car, as I will buy one for my daily driver when $ permits.
Check honda-tech vehicles for sale i see a couple shells a week going from 1,500 and up. Also you are in cali the heart of all import deals, trades, ect. Go to search button type in "Shell" and you will be very suprised. I think this would be a good start to a turbo project.
