New Toys for the R Today!
Today I spent ALL DAY installing stuff and running around town getting items for the car. I’m a little tired but everything turned out great.
The main installation today were my new tires, which are 204/45/16 Pzero Asimmetrico's. For about 2,000 miles I had the Pzero Nero tires and they sucked! They have so much side wall flex causing the steering response to really suffer. I figured they would be better since they are categorized as a “max performance tire”. I was able to convince Pirelli to let me ship them back through Tire Rack because I was unsatisfied by their performance. I had a set of Asimmetrico’s on my car prior to the Nero’s and really liked them. (Not sure why I actually changed tire choices in the first place).
Here are a few pictures of the fresh rubber on the Volks.

I’ve been considering some smoked turn signals for a while so I decided try a set. I was pleasantly surprised to see how they look on the car. During the day when the lights are off the smoke color blends right in with the car, yet at night they look virtually identical to the stock amber light color. They were not cheap at $60 a set but for the unique/clean look I’d say they were worth the cost.

I devised a good method to remove the side markers so as to avoid scratching the paint. Mine were really stubborn to come out. Just get a couple medium sized suction cups from the hardware store and place them on lens. Then grip the suction cups via the metal piece with pliers and wiggle it free. Worked like a charm!

I was searching eBay last week and found some inexpensive LED lights for the rear license plate. Since I have the twin set of Philips HID’s up front I thought this would go well with my vehicle. Here’s a picture with the stock light on one side and the PIAA LED on the other.

Finally picked up a heavy duty floor Jack – JDM Type R model of course!

Anyone want my keys? Good luck going anywhere! My car up on Jack stands while the tires are mounted.

I should be back in the garage tomorrow to install Axis Ultimate brake pads (If the UPS man comes my way)

Nice pics man, love the color contrast on the pic with the pliers.
Would love to know more about the license plate LED's...like the color contrast. IM or just throw it up, I am sure others would like to know more specifics as well.

He's had them before and have nice grip. I have 195/50 PZeros on OEMs. Good grip in wet and dry but squawk when pushed even slightly (Josh's 205/45s were silent). My R is a little undertired.
Um, where are your Lowdowns?!
