Default Integra LS ECU

I have a 95 integra, which redlines at 7500rpm. I know that you can get it programmed to redline at about 8000 to 8500 rpm. Where can I get a programmed ECU for my TEG LS I don’t want to remove mine I want to keep the stock one stock just incase I want to put it back to stock some day, I just want to replace it. I have the basic modes I/H/E with the MSD system no cams but planing to do it soon.

I don't know about other reprogrammed ECUs, but I know with mine, I can cut a wire to put the ECU back to stock, and can reconnect the wire to use the reprogrammed functions.

You should check with companies to see if they do that as well. (my chip is no longer available)

Don't forget, if you rev conisderably higher than stock, you might need to upgrade the valvetrain to handle the extra revs.

7500 redline? I thought the LS redlined at 6800 and the fuel cutoff is 7100?
Are you sure yours redlines at 7500?

Where can I get an ECU programmed in NYC area and how much. Will raising my fuel cutoff do any harm to my motor with the stock cams and valve train.

Rasing the fuel cutoff can both hurt your motor as well as not be a benifit.

With stock cams the engine will only make power to a certain RPM..after that it will start to lose power.
You will need some aftermarket cams in order to make power up higher and also better valve springs to keep everything in check and make sure you dont get valve-to-piston contact.

As for the rest of the engine...revving it past the factory limit is also not a good idea unless you upgrade the rods/rod bolts. I am talking from experiance here...rev too high for too long and you will break a rod. Then you get to buy a new motor - trust me its not fun.

With stock cams I think your factory redline is fine.

maybe you think it's 7500rpm but the tach is alway's off at higer rpm's.

it's probably 7000-7100rpm.

at 7300-7400rpm on the stock valve springs with the stock cams i get valve float. dont raise the redline for no reason. if you do better fork out some cash on a new valve train.

I agree - thast why I kept asking if he was sure its 7500. My tach is off by about 200 RPMs compared to teh S-AFC. The highest Ive ever recorded on the S-AFC was 7100..and the tacj said around 7300.

He was probably refering to the 99+ OBDII version 2 which some people call OBDIII

At that high of an rpm with stock cams you are not going to be making power. there is no reason to rev that high above redline, or get a chipped ecu to rev even higher without some major mods...especially valve springs.

I was assuming that he was going to get cams that continue to make power past stock redline?

I do have cams but not installed yet. I have a set of ITR cams and some Skunk2 valve springs. I should take the head off for building in a few days.

WTF? How the hell are you going to fit ITR cams and Skunk2 valve springs into a non-VTEC head?

Have you ever heard of LS/VTEC *** bite. That’s how I’m going to use the ITR cams BRO!!!!!!!! Plus the same skunk2 cams can be used in an LS motor with crower cams.

that would have been a good detail to include in your original post.

Yes BRO Ive heard of LS/VTEC...but Im sorry...did you anywhere in your earlier posts mention anything about a VTEC head?

Did that make any sense?
Im going to assume that you meant the same skunk2 "valve springs"...and if you did..you are wrong. VTEC valve springs cant be used in a non-VTEC head.

Hmm...intresting. From what Ive learned...VTEC and non-VTEC springs are different sizes.

See what you can find out.
