I went to the races yesterday...I couldn't stay for the entire Speedvision Touring Car race however, it was the last race at 4:30. I was disappointed to see the BMWs dominating the field. Kleinubing qualified at the mid/back of the pack and didn't do much during the race, the rest of the RTR team wasn't doing much either. Some good NASCAR rubbing going on though.
The biggest delight of the day was definitely talking with Mark Hein, his ITRs are amazing. Carbon fiber inside door panels, carbon "ram air" style intake, Moton remote resevoir suspension...the list goes on. It was very impressive. And he's a nice guy to top it off.
I'll try to post a few pics that I took, or if someone else can host them I'll send them to you...

Has RTR lost their touch? Or is Portland a bad place for the Rs?
....and does the 105db restriction applies to touring classes as well?

Before the race everyone said that Portland was a horsepower track - advantage BMW. If you read Taz Harvey's post, you'll see that the mufflers that were installed to keep the cars inside the sound limit robbed the cars of power. The effect of the power loss was apparently more noticeable on the Type R than it was on the Civic, as seen by the relatively low finish of the Realtime Rs and Taz's 2nd place finish in his Civic Si.

Realtime is still on top though. Their drivers are 1 & 3 in the Touring points and 2nd in the GT points. However this year it looks like the Manufacturer's championship in Touring is going to BMW, thanks to the many great BMW drivers that constantly fill up majority of the top ten positions.
