Default Finally, MORE HID pictures. Bi-xenon projector retro in a 95 civic

Well, i finally had some time to take more pictures of the retrofit.
I did get my high beams working (HID, not the halogens. Wanted to have a "quad" high beam setup, but decided against it). We kinda rigged a separate switch incabin for the high beams.

All pictures are versus halogen RSX lamps

cutoff:

my high beams vs RSX lows

highs vs highs

side by side (high vs low)

I do sacrifice SOME distance being that my car is lowered. If i point the projectors up even a little, they become an eyesore..
Comments/suggestions/questions?
Thanks for looking

my (hella) bi-xenon projectors are mounted in denji headlamps. Philips 4100k bulbs, and hella ballasts too. I swapped those projectors in, inplace of the stock halogen ones (check my sig link for more picts and how-to's).

Other than that, my car is lightly modded until i get my block built for my custom turbo setup that i have planned. I've got various pieces around collecting dust for the engine build, including CP pistons/ARP headstuds/hondata s200b/etc..

AEM CAI and Greddy Evo are on right now. H&R coilovers, type r lip, and 17" bronze Racing Hart Evo Cp-8's. Eclipse stereo components.
Other minor crap too

Anyway, thanks for the compliment

Thanks

Philips 4100k bulbs (have been used for sometime now, so colorshift has occured. colorshift=more blue/purple color)

I recently switched these older bulbs in and took my almost new bulbs out (both were 4100k). It only proves that HID bulbs do change color over a long period of time. My new bulbs looked almost halogen, but there was a major purple cutoff beam that could be seen at certain angles.

RSX is using its stock halogen bulbs

I was just wondering because the beam color looks rather purple. Must just be the camera

Yes, the color is really messed up with this camera.
My hid's are more of a purple/white than what the pict shows (green/blue).

My sis's headlights are pure yellow, but don't look like it on those picts

My bro has some 99-00 healights for sale with just low beam (bosch) BMW 7 series projectors mounted. IM me if you are interested...he may let it go for $350 or so.

ANyway, the highs are nice. They don't have a real wide spread though, but distance wise they are awesome. Keep in mind, like i said before, i am losing alot of distance due to my car being lowered. Plus, i found it almost impossible to get the projectors adjusted so they are pointing straight ahead. They both point in a little bit, which sacrifices my spread from side to side.

ANy other comments/questions ?

How much did you pay for the Bi-Xenon projectors? I've already put too much money into lighting, but I'll prolly have to do a retro fit.. I may just try to find some BMW projectors at a junk yard or something..

My bi's cost me around $450 shipped.
Most regular HID projectors like my bro's cost about $350 shipped (ballasts/projectors/bulbs)

Also, thanks for the compliments.

Check my link in my sig for the other thread that has some picts of my bro's headlights or please email him at
bschnklth@yahoo.com

Thanks again everyone!

Yep, no glare whatsoever. My headlights "look" like they are putting out less light than reflector setups, but if you look on the ground, its no comparison. Doesn't even look like the halogens are lighting up the road

You should think about selling those. Could make some money. I hear lots of people asking for hid eg housings.

With those housing people can just use the inner lights as brights to save money on the projectors right?

I've thought about selling them. But i think it'd be hard to find a serious buyer for them...
$150 headlamps
$450 projectors/bulbs/ballasts
$xxx time put into the project?

So i'd need AT LEAST $600 + labor. I'm guessing i'd never find anyone that serious.

Yes, i have more picts of teh lip. I just have to find them sometime when i have time. I'm in real estate now which = no time for anything else. I dont even know how i'm finding the time to reply to this thread

Thanks guys
