Default Anyone have this problem?

I went to do a little tune up, took out the #1 plug... OK we're fine so far... then take out #2 plug DOLT! It's covered in Oil. Actually seemed like half the spark plug hole was full of oil. So I called the dealer and made an appt for tomorrow, any ideas what the problem might be? I checked the next plug and it had a tiny bit of oil on it, but not nearly as much... Anyhow just wondering.

Thanks!

bad oil control, i.e. bad piston ring or valve seal...could be a few things...

let me add, that the plug was not fouled due to oil... it looked fine, the oil was actually in the spark plug hole. like it was leaking down from above almost. I am getting the valves adjusted as well and asked them to take a look at the oil in the spark plug. Also the car still burns about 1 quart every 3,500 miles. Not too bad for 185,000 miles?

It is probably just a bad seal on the gasket that goes around your spark plug galley on your valve cover.

Thanks for all the feedback. Hopefully that's all it is and they can take care of it while they do the valves.

hmm, that happened to me exactly too....but i think it was because there's a washer that goes around the spark plug, and when we installed it last time, it didn't seat correctly...and if i remember correctly, we had a hard time putting that spark plug in too

Thanks for all the Advice, turns out it was the spark plug seals 2.52 cents a piece, and they put them in while they were doing the valve adjustment, and I got an oil change too... it's WAY too hot to work on a car in Jersey these days... supposed to be 100 Degrees today! I guess last time the valves were adjusted, or maybe when the timing belt was changed they might have pinched them... Anyhow all is well in Honda land again and the car no longer sounds like a sewing machine in the mornings! I have nothing but for the Hondas.
