goo remover for tinted windows. or if you just keep rubbing it, itll eventually come off

 

I used some stuff called goof off it will take off anthing.i did it but you could still kinda see the si logo from over 11 year of sun shining on the paint it kinda left a mark

 

ive heard wd-40 can take it off, but is that safe to spray onto the body of my car?

 

Why not just clay and wax/buff the entire car

 

Goof-off is probably your best bet. I had to remove sticker/badge leftovers from my old accord and my girl's accord, and it worked very well without any visible damage to the paint. You can pick up a can of that stuff at Sears or OSH, I think it works better than WD40 on removing sticky stains like that.

 

i have goo gone, but i dont have the plastic scraper that comes with it so its bascially useless, unless i can find something else to scrap with could/should i use a razor blade?

That's what I use. Just apply liberally and wipe in a circular motion.

 

When you're done with the goof-off you may want to buff up the area with some polish to try and get the paint shades to match. The paint that has been hit by the sun over the years may be a bit discolored and different from the area under the stickers.

 

some prep-all wax and grease remover .. mine came off real quick

Um, definitely don't use the razor blade. You would hate yourself if you did.

DON"T use a razor. You could make a scratch. Get a piece of plastic (like a credit card) and use that.

what it is is probably faded paint, there might be a little sticky stuff on there that you could get off, but there will always be a mark. i have it from my pin stripes on the side of my car.

i work at a car lot and the painters and detailers said there is nothing you can do about it. you can buff it a little but you can still see it

 

Yeah, does it feel like there's a texture there? If its smooth, it's probably just faded paint. I use rubbing alcahol to take all the sticky stuff off cars when I work on them.

YIKES!! I would highly advise not using goof off or goo gone, I have used this stuff on my interior paint and it ate right through to the metal. You won't notice on the outside, because you have clear. Use wd-40, and if that doesnt work, get some very light cutting compound, like 3m brand and buff that area, or you could try a clay bar.

 

Denatured alcohol, available at any hardware store.

My buddy owns a vinyl shop and uses this all the time to remove sticker/vinyl residue.

my problem before was that i didnt let it sit long enough + wasnt using a strong enough cloth

for future reference, the goof off (or goo gone, etc.)+ hair dryer (loosens the ish up like no other) combo works quite well.

 

goof off is far to harsh. it ate though spots of touch up paint and left swirls in my paint. now it looks like **** in the sun

 

Use Gasoline, kind of dangerous but works really well. You will need to wax the area after your done.
