Neuspeed Race = horrible ride?
My girlfriend has Neuspeed race spring on her RSX and I have to say the ride is absolutely terrible. Every little bump is a serious BANG inside the car. It feels like there is no suspension. She was supposed to get the Neuspeed sport but the shop ended up giving the race instead.
I have Neuspeed Sports on my Type R with stock shocks and the ride is perfect. My question is what do we need to do to get a descent ride? Should she sell the race and gets sports (how big is the difference bwteen the two anyways) or are the RSX stock shocks to blame and she should get some koni adjustables or something?
Thanks

how many inches is it lowered the lower you go on stock shocks the worse the ride is i have comptech spring ride is close to stock but nothing bad
I would not recommend the Koni's. Go and check out http://www.clubrsx.com and do a search on those. Many people have complained about them leaking and busting from daily driving.
If you have the cash get Tein Flex for your GF RSX. I have them on my Type S and they are great. I have them set at 14 front and 16 rear. They corner like a dream. If you do something, you might as well spend the extra cash and get them done right. Good luck bro.
And yes the lower you go the shitier the ride gets. I can make my Tein Flex bouny as hell to if I put the dampener at full hard, but it corners amazing.
When I had Skunk2 coilovers with stock struts the ride was decent but after a while it started bottoming out on everything. It got really bouncy and over every bump it slammed hard. If you are lowered alot you may want to raise the height of your gf car a bit maybe only lower it 1.5-2.o inch drop. Good luck bro.

i believe it the spring rates that is causing the bouncy it gets...race springs has a rough(high) spring rate while sport has a smoother (low) spring rate
shocks will help but it will still be bouncy
i say either get the full tein setup or swap it for sports or try the tein s.tech..very nice ride

if there seems to be a really hard impact over every bump, it's related to suspension travel. as stiff as race springs are, they won't give you a hard bang unless the suspension is bottoming out onto the bump stops.
you need a new shock with a shortened body to recover some of the suspension travel that you lost when lowering. Unfortunately, no one makes a shock/strut that satisfies that need right now.
Personally, I'd suggest getting rid of the neuspeed race springs and find something that is more compatible with the stock shock and perhaps something that doesn't lower quite as much. neuspeed race typically gives a 2-2.5" drop. I have the h&r sport springs which dropped exactly to 2". Smooth over all but the harshest of bumps.
you might also try the h&r cup kit.

don't know much about dc5 suspension, but does it have bump stops and if so, did you cut them when you installed the springs.
just guessing that might be the problem.

No the bump stops were not cut to my knowlege. I'm goign to switch them for the Sports whihc should be a little higher. That coupled with the lower rate should smoothen out the ride a bit.
