Hey Guys.
I hate to post this on a somber note today. What strikes me is that one of my
close friends ILUVTEC (Clay) had a similar experience. There were two poles
in his case on 11/02 that night which strain reliefed the one that broke so that
it didnt fall on and kill him. However here is the story:

Commack Teen Dies in Car Accident
Cops Seek Help in IDing Body

An 18-year-old was killed last night after his car skidded off the road and struck a utility pole in Commack, police said.
Seth Baumgartner, of Commack, was driving his 1995 Acura Integra southbound on Kings Park Road at about 11 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway and struck the pole, Suffolk County Police said.
The force of the accident causes the top of the pole to snap off, landing on the car. The teen was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is continuing
Consider this a speed check for those of us struggling to slow down on the street.

you know I agree with you on that one. however, there is a large percentage of people in our hobby without the self control needed to drive a modified car on the street. speed lust is very addictive
I am very sorry for the kid and his family. unfortunatly almost the same thing has happened to me (additctive speeds and a car crash...i was young)
since then though i havent driven at all in the same way. i drive like old ppl. thankfully i am still here and wasnt injured. it tought me an important lesson.
once again i am sorry for the family and if his death and my wreck along with many other drivers bad experiances on the road cant convince other ppl not to drive like idiots then something is wrong...

Yeah, the media always portrays it as a "modified" or racing type story. I always wonder if someone hit me while i'm driving regular, if i get the blame just because my car is "modified".
Rest in peace...
