Let's help my cousin out! Accord related.
Well guys, I got this email the other day and have never really pondered these question, so i came to the never failing HT for some accord advice. Here is the email i got.
paco
wats goin on, its your cousin james. i just bought a '94 2 dr accord with a 2.2 vtec, and i figured since you are the master of imports in the family you might be able to give me some advice. if there are any necesities or things you think i should or shouldn't do, or wat i should go about doing first please let me know. heres what im looking to do so far, full exaughst, intake ( i was planning on goin with a k&n short ram), brake system ( i need new rotors, would you recomend sticking with stock rotors and brakes), lowering springs, clutch, tires, possibly a thottle body and intake manifold. i know you were tellin bryan about a real quiet exaughst but i couldn't remember the name. in the long run i would preferable want to throw a tubo kit on there but thats a ways down the road. i haven't done anything to it because i was waiting to see wat ur input would be on the situation. if theres and brands youve found more reliable thans others, or just any tips youve learned from past experiances, i mean i know a little about wat im doing but theres so much i dont know. all the people at parts stores haven't really been extremely helpfull, their always tryin to push me the most expensive ****. the car has got a lot of potential, but it needs more horses, i want this thing to move. so just hit me back, thanks

the mods he mentioned are all sure ways to gain a few horses, but tell him not to expect any more than 15-25 horses after adding on all the mods he plans on buying.
make sure he buys some shocks when he lowers it or he is gonna blow his stock ones pretty quick.
good, quiet exhausts are the apexi ws, rs-r exmag, and the greddy evo isnt bad either.
the engine will handle a turbo nicely, and if he can just have him save his money till he can afford a turbo or an h22a swap, if he actually wants his car to be fairly fast.
i didnt touch on all the points, but all of his questions have been discussed in this forum before, so if you want more info just bust a search. better yet, tell him to get his punk *** on honda tech so he can exploit the infinite pool of knowledge for himself.
i'm pretty fucked up right now so i'll just go ahead and stop here...but uhm...accords are by no means the best platform to build on, but if he takes the time to research and do things right he won't be disappointed.
