Default rim repair...

yesterday was my car's first *injury*!!!

my rim got scuffed on the curb while making a sharp right hand turn. the car jolted as i made the turn and left a nasty 455 scuff (some bare metal shavings) on the rim lip.

does anyone know of a good fix for the rim? besides replacing the rim completely, is there any way to possibly buff the rim out and paint over it...or...? i believe the rim is covered with a clearcoat so painting may not help much...or am i wrong about this? your "kokua" would be much appreciated!

p.s. - kokua means "help" in hawaiian

thanks!

There are specialty wheel repair shops where you can get it fixed and refinished. It usually runs $100 or so per wheel

Leave this job to the professionals.

damn! that doesn't look too good! sorry about your accident!

no i didn't dent it badly. actually, it's really not that bad...if you don't look for it, you can't really notice it. but the fact that i know where it is, i can't not notice it...know what i mean? character it does add though...

do you all think the dealer may have a good fix? i'd think they would...hmmm
