my freind has a auto 95 ls. has access to a cheap b16 head, and my gsr cams to go in it. figured we'd use the jdm auto gsr ecu to run the motor. would a stock ls bottom with 100k handle the higher revs of the auto gsr ecu.
any info with this setup would be awesome
thanks in advance..darrin

They didn't make any auto GSR's in North America. They are only in Japan.

found out 94+ auto gsr's had a 7600 redline....forget auto ls/vtec for now..freind decided he wants boost..says he found out a ls tranny can hold 250 hp..so that's his plan now..

It works, however that program isn't designed to open the secondary runners, so unless you take them out, you definitely will not be making the power necessary. Most people run chipped P28's with B18C1's after the removal of the secondary butterflies, or if they get a new IM altogether.

you'll not only need the auto ecu from a jdm gsr, but you'll also need the actual transmission computer also (it's in the driver's side footwell panel). 95 ls comes prewired for vtec so the ecu is just a swap in, but you'll need a new engine harness usdm should be fine. Then you'll also need 94-95 GSR tach...that's about it. Don't use 96+ because they're different.
