CAI vs Short ram intakes?
Hi, I was just wondering if anybody here has any dyno proven gains of either of these intakes? I remember reading from a previous thread someone dyno'd the AEM and it worked out to a 4 whp gain. I used to have the DC sports DAC that sat in the engine bay, that mother was loud so I got rid of it and went back to the stock airbox. It's time for a new filter and I was thinking of buying an AEM CAI, or dropping in a K&N filter into the airbox. I know the AEM, or any other intake for that matter will probably be just as loud as my previous intake, I'm willing to live with that now...
Any suggestions?

i actually did a dyno run/comparison with a C.A.I.S and a short ram intake. winner: short ram intake +2whp and +2tq. i am uncertain to whether the hood being open or not was a factor? i'll leave that up to you.

isn't it also that tube cai's (the ones that extend to behind ur headlight and in front of ur tire) improve low-mid range and short rams improve high end?
Short Intake higher torque resonance...
CAI lower torque resonance... It boils down to intake dia. and lenght also material filter ect..ect...ect

Thanks for the info guys, however you say your short ram was the winner at +2 whp? I remember seeing a posting where someone claimed the aem cai was +4 whp??? Anybody else have input into this
the comptech icebox is a nice quiet, decent-performing system. and about the same price as the AEM if you buy just the filter and icebox unit (the elbow, IMO, is not worth the $200).
