Bad idle after one run in the quater mile....
ok here's what happened, my brother went to california speedway(1/4 track) yesterday and after running his 2001 Prelude SH it began to stall at idle. from what i can tell it seems like the timing went off becaue it idles real rough, like the motor shakes and you can hear pausing in the exhaust tone. in order for the car to stay idleing you have to keep your foot on the gas. some previous problems that he had also was that when he would make a turn the car would turn off for no reason but he never payed to much attention to that, you guys have any idea what can cause the car to die when making a turn, or what might had happen during his run at the track? thanks.
possibly a bad fuel pump or a relay? Does it seem to do it more on a more empty tank than a full one? Any other symptoms you can give, or exactly the condistions it seems to do it more would be of much help
do a compressiona nd leak down test to eliminate posible valve or ring landing damage. then if all is good there work your way thru the spark and fuel . good luck you need to start some where. with the symptoms you talk about it could be anything almost, even a bad plug, but start some where start elminating things, and people on here can help you more as it gets more specific

BINGO! the car was taken to the dealer today and we found out that cylenders 1 and 2 had bad compression, they said that some valves were bent also due to an overrev. i aksed my bro but he denies mis-shifting, now the car is out of service, the worst thing about it is that it only has 13,5xx miles
anyone have any H22 valves for sale? someone correct me if im wrong but 93+ H22's have the same valves right?

Quick question. If the valves are bent would that mean that the pistons are damaged??
The Honda dealership must see a lot of cases like this I bet.

Nah, bent valves don't necessarily mean damaged pistons.
Just go to Autozone/Napa and get some new ones; they're only like $15 a piece.
