Im looking for a tire good for drag racing, under 20lbs, with a treadwear of around 250. These tires must also get me around, they will stay on the car 100% of the time. What are your opinions?

even though azenis were made more for autoX use, they seem to do rather well when used for drag racing.

 

Chet told me they weigh 22lbs each, where as the stock Michelins weigh 17.5lbs each. So I may grab alittle time off the 60 footers I may very well lose it in the rest of the run due to the extra rotational mass. Other opinions?

They also have to be realitvly cheap, under 80 a piece.

I run azenis when I can find them. I drive a couple hundred miles a week, and see the strip at least once a week. THey work well, especially for the money.

Nitto 555s also work wel for front tires even on a daily driver. But i think they discontinued the 205-50/15

 

Im getting too many mixed signals on how Azenis work at the track, but one thing is for sure, theyre heavy. The nt555's are nice, but theyre way too much. Any more opinions?

I'm having a hell of a time trying to launch my Azenis on the track - but I believe that I am the problem... not the tires.

Edit - Yes, they are very heavy tires but handle better than anything I've even known aside from auto-x slicks.

 

What about Yoko AVS100's? newgsrdriver reccomended them to me.
