Default vandalism/theft

Has anybody done or know of a way to reenforce or fabricate a way to lock down the tab on the windows so people can't reach their arms through by bending the window. I just had that happen to my car and not only did they steal my stereo. They didn't know a thing about what they were doing and jacked up my ignition by trying to shove a screwdriver in there, they ripped off the steering column plastic and all of the metal around the ignition lock. I know this hasn't just happend to me and know how it feels. It bites......I'm investing in a nice alarm to deter those kids who just want to break into **** and go for a joy ride. Please let me know what you know....or what not.. thanks all!!!

You know, you could be a little bit more grateful... at leas they didn't take your car. I am sure replacing a stereo and some small stuff is a little cheaper than replacing the whole car. The only think I could think of is to put a plastic guard or something over where they would usually hook the lock.

keep your windows rolled up.

Sorry to hear you got your stuff stolen. That sucks! Without fully disconecting the thing there is no way that I can think of. Unless you had a custom one made.

get the sensor detection alarm with the visible screen display. It helps to know if some idiot cant help themself to try and steal.

you could always sharpen the top of your window to a razor-point, but then you'd have to clean blood off your car

I know what you are saying...it could have been worse. But it sounds like you are trying to insult him. Getting your car messed w/is nothing to be grateful for, no matter the degree.

Now, did they get into your car w/the window all the way up?

man... i'm thinking about making all the wires up to my key cylinder the same color, or some other color than factory. They are just too easy to memorize on a honda. Of course on mine having the immobilizer will help i guess

I don't know if it's theft proof or not, but I use that clutch lock that according to the vendor makes it impossible to steal. My car has a salvage title due to theft recovery. The thieves stole the drive train in 1996. My son's GSR was stolen a few months ago, where they took the engine and tranny. The thieves used a tow truck for the theft. Not much you can do to avoid that. You have to have a good alarm that is not easily by-passed.

To be honest I was a little insulted with the whole be grateful, but I do understand what you mean. Just a little bit of wrong wording. Yes, the window was rolled all the way up, it is the little tab near the front of the car about a foot up from the side mirror. bend the tab up pull out the window and you can reach your hand in. I didn't think it was that easy untill it actually happend. It really bites. And man.. your car was quite a bit worse off than mine. I can still start my car, and none of the wires are ripped out, just the ignition was fed up.

Ok, didn't mean to come off as an *** with the whole grateful thing... on a local import board, 6 people have had their Honda's/Acura stolen within the last 3 months, stripped to the **** (no suspension, no brakes, no engine, no interior, no nothing)... and I am almost positive they would rather have their ignition f-ed up, or a few hundred dollar stereo stolen, than the whole damn thing gone and ripped to pieces.

The good thing is they shorted the ignition fuse by grounding one of those wires and couldnt start the car!

That wouldnt have helped me. They just busted my window while at the same time ruining my door locks by shoving a screwdriver in em and banging it with a hammer.
