Default Eagle Rods...will they be safe enough? I wanna hear personal testimonials about em.

Ive heard alota stories about Eagle rods. Some good some bad. I wanna hear what you have to say about em. And i only wanna hear from people that have used em, or built motors with em. Or even Golden Eagle themselves since they post on here.

I plan on running 15 PSI daily and 25lbs at the track. I dont really wanna upgrade the bolts, becuase if i do that i will just go ahead and buy crowers. Let me know how your rods hold up in similar conditions please.

Brian's car runs 24lbs. of boost at the track and makes 565whp and 350wtq... We haven't had any problems with them yet... If you wanna be safe I wouldn't run them... Go with some Crower 4340 Steel Billets, that's what we use in all of our higher boost cars... Just my $0.02, Latez

if you are concerned(and i would be if i were you), just run crowers. do not be cheap when your trying to make the power your trying to make. you'll be happier in the end.

I've always ran them and never a problem. I put down 300 to the tire @11-12 psi and soon gonna run 25 psi. I've also used them in my past motor setups with good results. Besides, I've seen stock rods with upgraded pistons hold just shy of 400whp. It's your call.

I have the Eagle and have been told by many to just upgrade the rod bolts to the ARP Custom Age 625+(Part# 300-6708) replacements. Of course the rod would need to be machined after the new bolts are put in.

Only problem is, I don't know where I can buy the ARP Custom Age 625+ rod bolts. Anyboldy know where I can buy these?

i would just spend the extra money for crower, itll give you a piece of mind. i got the eagles and i wish i would have just spent like 300 more for a better rod that i woulnt have to worry about.

Well i guess im gonna go ahead and buy the Crowers or maybe even get Pauter if i can find em cheap enough. Im not intrested in machining a brand new rod.

My power goals are around 350hp at 15 psi. My friend has the same setup as i have pretty much and thats what he was making. So im kinda expecting the same

Golden Eagle has nothing to do with eagle rods. from what i hear, they are safe to around 500hp. some ppl have had failures, some ppl have pushed them even harder. if you are really worried, i'd say go with crower or pauter.

If you had to ask this question, is there anything anyone can say that will make you be completely confident with the eagles.

Golden Eagle is an entirely separate company from Eagle Specialty Products.

Golden Eagle may SELL Eagle Rods, but Golden Eagle has NOTHING to do with Eagle Specialty Equipment.

Yuo Be Owned, noob.

Imagine Hershey Chocolates.... and the vending machine guy. He doesn't make the chocolate bars. He probly KNOWS a little about them, and can suggest which chocolate bar would suit your taste, but he is just the vending machine guy, out to make a little dough on up-pricing something you could buy elsewhere cheaper.

I've got a b16a that's been revved to 9500 RPM, and made 232 HP at the wheels so far, soon to make much more. It was hand built by Alan, the import specialist at Eagle, one of my close, personal friends who has been helping me with my Civic since WAYYYY before he got the job at Eagle.

Until I'm pushing over 500 at the wheels, I have NO doubt in the strength of the Eagle Rods. The only thing I will do if I start looking toward that goal is pull the rods to have the Hi-Strength ARP bolt upgrade done. Other than that, I have NO problems with the Eagle Rods up to 600+whp.

That guy PROBABLY didn't say that the guy built the engine himself, didn't torque the bolts to spec, or he spun a rod bearing causing the bolts to overheat, they snapped and took the engine along with them.

Installation is key. If you can use a torque wrench and follow instructions, you can have peace of mine using MUCH less expensive rods that will hold up to anything 99% of Honda tuners can throw at them.

motor was built not by me... but a very respected shop... it was only running for i would say a good 6 months of some serious beating... bearing did not spin and im pretty damn sure that the bolts were torqued to spec... i dont see why they wouldnt be

My Eagle rods stretched. So i had them machined and i reused them for another motor..What was the outcome? They stretched again..I torqued them down to spec, i didn't spin a bearing..They just stretched like cheese. I should have listened to Tony1...He said they were crap, and he was right. ..I rather run a stock rod than an Eagle.

Did you let Eagle know about this? If they don't hear back about this stuff from the market, how are they supposed to know what to watch out for in the future? The can test the metal to see if it was a flaw in the casting, or a metalurgy problem, or whatever. How is Eagle supposed to get better when they don't hear and feedback?!

I don't have time to call Eagle and cry....plus there's no warranty on force induction.. ..All i said was mine stretched, twice, and i think they're crap..That's my personal experience. Flamenco-t had the same luck..watch who you throw those 's at.
