Thats not too bad. I've seen worse. Definitely a good excuse to upgrade though

At least it's only a header. Good excuse for an upgrade.

Damn that sucks, good thing there is no other damage. My mom did the same thing to her R and smashed the dc header on there.

whats the diff between a jdm dc header and just a dc 4-1 header? say for a b18b or b18c1?

arent the jdm dc header's 4-1? is it stil the same size bolt flange?

JDM DC 4-1 = 2.5" collector

Any other DC header is worthless. Makes no useable power.

well the reason i ask is cause i have a dc 4-1 header on my b18b.

dont all b-series have 2.5" collectors?

and if mine isnt a jdm then its not making anypower? that boggles me.

No, your header isn't making any real power. Most b-series are 2" or 2.25" collector.... only the good ones are 2.5"

if mine isnt a jdm 4-1 header then its just a standard dc sports 4-1 header? whats the difference between my header and the jdm header? and why would mine not make anypower?

Because there's a huge difference in the design, as well as the larger collector is a huge improvement. You won't see a good header, like smsp, dtr, header-tech, anr, etc... using a 2.25" or 2" collector, because it sucks.

so with that said, how could i put a 2.5 header collector on my engine? and if its not possible due to the fact that the b18b doesnt have a 2.5 inch collector, then no header on the market will provide gains?

The JDM DC will work, but you have to get 2.5" exhaust and a 2.5" cat....

with the usdm dc 4-1 and the tanabe rm, you're probably making maybe 5-8 useable hp....

The JDM 4-1 doesn't have the carb plate on the header, thats another way to tell. Take a look at mine....

Measure the diameter of the primaries on your header. Some of the DC USDM models are actually 1-3/4" just like the DC JDM. The USDM DC GSR header is also 1-3/4" tubes but the 2" USDM collector. All you need to do with those are cut the collector off and add a taper with a 2-1/2" outlet.

jisecup...the search button is your friend... dont ***** out someone else's thread

you will not be making 5-8 useable horsepowers from your usdm dc header and racing medallion if you are already driving a type R
...more like 3-5 hps
