Honda Club benefits
This topic should really have been in the 'General Discussion' section, but seeing as I am a trial member I thought it better to go ahead and post it rather then post-**** till becoming a member.
I live in Barbados. Motorsports and cars in general are a big thing here dispite import duties on cars between 150 to 200%. Most daily drivers are Toyotas, Suzukis, Nissans - evey budget to mid level car made in Japan or Korea.
Hondas have their place too. The local dealer has done little to pomote the brand to the younger generations. They sell mainly Accords and CRVs to the upper income bracket. The rest of us purchase our Integras and Civics from JDM used markets. Parts support is difficult. It is far easier and cheaper to find buy parts from the US than from Japan. Through trial and error we've managed to find some of the corresponding USDM parts to fit.
We're starting a Honda Club and were thinking that dealers in the US might offer us discounts as a Club. Is this the sort of thing that happens? It would be for the everyday stuff. Timing belts, pads, clutches, shocks, etc.
Also, as a Club what other benefits should we be looking for. Can you get Club discounts at driving schools? What about industry shows like SEMA?
For those of you who might be a little curious about the car culture in the Southern Caribbean:

vtecvoodoo (Ryan) has strong involvement with Honda/Acura Club. If he doesn't shoot or run over you on site, he might talk to you. j/k He's a good man.
Personally, I think discounts at track days and driving schools is a great idea. It helps seasoned racers get into racing at lower costs and makes it more inviting for the unfamiliar crowd.
You should also pick a racer supply shop to be a part of the club sponsorship so that people can get safety equipment to help them get onto and around the track safely.
